Dennis O'Bryant was born on Hwy 80 in Shreveport, Louisiana and grew up there without too many complaints. After college, his travels took him to Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, and back to Shreveport. In 1995, Dennis settled on Marshall, Texas and purchased a 100-year-old house there. He spent four years restoring the place and finally got around to painting. Off to the east, about halfway between his homestead and his birthplace, near the Texas-Louisiana border sits Caddo Lake, and the haunting beauty of the lake called to O'Bryant's creative side. Using pointalism and the palette knife with acrylic paint, Dennis captures the mysterious beauty of Caddo Lake's Cypress trees, Spanish moss, and Lily pads. Every piece for sale here is an original on canvas. There are no prints of these original works, thus each will hang perpetually unique in your home as a true reminder of the wonder and beauty of Caddo Lake's mystique.
