Sandra Hodges received a B.A. in Art Education from Eastern New Mexico with Masters of Science Degree in Art from Sul Ross University. She has been a lifelong student, practitioner and teacher of the Fine Arts. She is a West Texas native having been born in Littlefield, Texas, and received her elementary and secondary education in neighboring Clovis, New Mexico. She and her husband Maurice, football coach, currently reside in Midland, Texas.Her versatility, interests and consummate abilities extend to all forms of media and has been the basis of her successful endeavors as both an art teacher and a studio artist. A recipient of numerous awards, her works are hung in numerous public and private collections. She has andcontinues to study with some of the foremost artists in a variety of media.She enjoys passing on to her students both artistic techniques and her philosophy that art is a uniquely vivid statement of the artist's experiences that are shared through the venue of artistic expression. Mrs. Hodges is currently devoting her considerable talent to her original love, watercolors. She not only works in the classic watercolor motif, but does many inspiring works in mixed media, combining watercolors with collage, pastels and paper casting among others with breath-taking results.
