Adam and Lena “TEA BY MOONLIGHT” ©2007 Sleepyland Records (released Mar 2008) Review by Lucky Boyd Sometimes I get to talk to you about things to come. This is one of those times. Adam Berry and Lena Asinovsky are Adam and Lena and here’s their debut offering. An acoustic release with a max of about four recording tracks in the studio, so there’s no fancy polish or tricky effects to mask what’s going on in the session. Therefore, Adam and Lena must stand solely on their talent and they stand well. Aside from a few minor things that the right mastering would improve, this folk offering is laden with adept songwriting and great delivery. Lena’s voice is superb. What’s next for this duo is a year of gigs while they garner their following, which should be solid and faithful. By the time they return to the studio, you should hear a seasoning and maturity that will yield a fantastic release. This is one of those projects that’s great for filling the gap between gigs.
