Bart Crow “FINALLY” ©2006 Honk-Show Records Review by Lucky Boyd The long-awaited full album from Bart Crow is here. After the successful self-titled EP, this is Crow’s official debut release. The writing is solid as you would expect from Crow and the performances are Texas styled all the way. Bart Crow’s audience expects a certain sound from him and this album delivers. It’s not tainted by fancy over-production but rather captures the true essence of each song in Crow’s unmistakable style. Three of the tunes from the EP follow Crow to the debut but not without a facelift. “Burnout” rises from a lament on the EP to a full out rocker on the CD, a marked improvement for the nature of the song. New versions of “Rodeo Gypsy” and “Walk On By” also appear. Arguably the best cut is “Driftin’ In The Wind” on which Crow defines his best style. Nestled comfortably between country influence and rock rhythms is Crow’s niche. Traveling those roads are sure to make Bart Crow one of Texas’ favorite performers for a long time to come. Bart Crow Self-titled EP Review by Lucky Boyd I met Bart Crow on-stage as we performed together in Baytown, Texas. I was impressed with this young songwriter from his very first song. Now Crow released a four-banger shopper EP with guitar, dobro, and fiddle called simply “BART CROW.” From the opening “Rodeo Gypsy” Crow will have you hooked with his easy yet confident delivery and powerful lyrics. Destined to be one of the greats in Texas music, Crow is busy performing and working on his debut full-length CD. This disc will always be his first, and you should have it. Great music, and a fabulous introduction to a performer who will very quickly be one of the biggest and best, get the EP today!
