Dan DeGrado’s “THE DRAGON” is a diverse collection of twelve cuts that range from the folk-rock title tune to the honky-tonk laden “Gonna Have Some Fun.” The project is nicely arranged by Tim Alexander who chimes in on keys. Kevin Deal turns in a stellar project on harp, and MTM Member Annie Benjamin’s unmistakable flute and harmonies warm up “A Dream In Your Heart” and “Diamonds Are Forever.” DeGrado’s voice is crisp and clear with an occasional vibrato that is timely and appropriate. There is a hint of country mixed in the folk and rock offerings making this an entertaining disc. DeGrado is a talented writer and this is a fine first offering. Dan also teams up with fellow MTM member Rene Lawrence (Swank) to form B4U, and the union is a solid one! B4U has released "Dusty Corners", a 9 cut disc that showcases the immense talents of both men perfectly. Pick up both discs and treat yourself!
