Isbell is the trio's songwriter, but for a co-write with Clark on "Mountain King" and "Am Blues", a Doors cover and one Dylan/Jagger/Richards adaptation. At times the music can be 'in-your-face" and at times a little more psychedelic. The disc contains two reprisals of "Camille" which can be heard on Isbell's solo EP. This band's music explodes with artistry at every turn as the multi-dimensional arrangements speak volumes about how rock music has evolved.
