Moreland's 2006 release is the most polished to-date and employs a list of guest stars like Bill Kirchen, Lloyd Maines, and Roger Creager. Moreland assembled an A-list of pickers at Cedar Creek Studios and created a masterpiece of an album. Penned mostly by Moreland, the disc delves into areas that fans may not be used to. Touted as a great live performer, this disc establishes Moreland as a viable recording star. The production is excellent and Moreland's performance is perhaps the best of his career. Moreland's previous albums were fantastic and each one had a piece of Doug inside each cut, but it's as if those releases were a partnership between Moreland and his fans. This disc is more of a gift to his fans. Included is Moreland's "The Beer Song," a loose adaptation of Geoff Mack's "I've Been Everywhere." This release is also a gem to hold in your hand. Clever packaging make this CD qualify as the whole enchilada. Absent from the album is the beloved 'Jalepeno' as well as any significant comedic material. Moreland has truly nestled into Country and Swing music with an ease and comfort that is to be envied. It's a new day for Moreland, and a very bright one. Previous notes: With a dog named 'Jalapeno' in tow, Doug Moreland has pawed his way on to more stages than you can shake, or fetch, a stick at. You might have seen him at Willie's picnic, on Jay Leno, or on Animal Planet. With a dog in the act, these things are possible. But wait. Moreland is not a dog and phony show, he's the real deal. He writes songs about things you know of, making you look at a hilarious side of life. He is the master at putting together a show that is entertaining and perfectly timed. Moreland has even become a bar owner's best friend with his countless 'toasts' that, of course, make sure everyone is buying more from the bar. Moreland's past, while a bit atypical, is worth reading about, and you can do so from the bio link below. He's a Nashville picker, a college boy, a chainsaw sculptor, and a successful business owner. Oh, and he has a dog, and the dog sings and plays the fiddle. Don't take my word for it, catch a show. You'll love the flow of the albums, and Moreland's 2002 release "#FORE" is very much like being at the show yourself. Doug Moreland is one of Texas' finest entertainers, garnering statewide fans with ease, and gathering new fans with every show. Once you're hooked, you'll want every album.
