Falling Rock is the trio of Soni Romans, David Quintana, and James Garrison. Quintana and Garrison share guitar duties while Romans' flute appears at just the right moments. Their debut offering is the self-titled "FALLING ROCK" and contains eight cuts of the trio performing all original material. The highlight of this disc is the vocal work turned in by Soni Romans. Taking lead vocal duties on most cuts, and background occasionally, Romans has a strong memorable voice. Loosely produced, and simply orchestrated, this disc is a fair representation of the passion and intensity this Texas trio garners on stage. The songwriting is solid and the CD is a good first effort. I see big things in the future for this threesome. Not yet a household name, but indeed Falling Rock is again something to 'watch out' for.
