Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, Frank Lee Sprague has had a few CD releases, some of which got him good reviews in Playboy & Rolling stone, (# 713 on their all time roots LPs list, might not sound too impressive but hey, he beat the Monkees!), toured the world twice, (including Japan), appeared on CBS Nationwide, and is still getting a lot of airplay worldwide. (Frank: “The way I got it all ready for radio was by gettin' drunk, slappin' in some skoal, & tryin' ta sing without swallowin' my chaw!) He's actually recording a whole bunch of different projects right now, and is supposed to tour Japan again next year. Frank’s music is released under two names; "Frank Lee Sprague", & also "The Sprague Brothers" so he has two different websites, (www.frankleesprague.com), & (www.thespraguebrothers.com). Playboy magazine described Sprague’s sound as “a great lost West Texas Rock sound.” Frank himself says he feels he is “carrying on in the tradition of a Buddy Holly/Buddy Knox style of rock’n’roll.” Sprague’s 2004 release is “MERSEYBEAT.” Influenced by the ‘fab four' et al, Sprague reprises a sound that brings back a feeling we all felt in simpler times. Songs of love and loss over tunes made famous in the 60’s make this a feel-good album from start to finish.
