His easy delivery is pleasant to the ear and his subject matter is life, love, and music. Quist’s debut offering is “SONGS PLAY ME,” co-produced by Quist and White Cat Studios’ Jack Saunders. Quist writes or co-writes every cut and each one is a lyrical gem. Gordy is quick to abandon tradition for content and many of his tracks are a refreshing departure from the popular sound of late. Some tracks are more orchestrated than others, but Quist’s style is as comfortable with just a guitar and his Arlo Guthrie-ish demeanor, as it is with a full band and a great country delivery.
