Harvey Derrick wrote a song that was adopted as the anthem for the "Procrastinators Of America." I was going to do that, but I kept putting it off. Nevermind that, just know that Harvey Derrick is another great Honorary Texan, writing so many songs about the cowboy way of life. Derrick is a country and folk singer and 'song teller' with a voice as big as Texas. His current offering "HARVEY DERRICK AND FRIENDS" is really three albums on one disc. The first re-release is "DREAMS ON THE LINE" including ten studio versions of great country writes and co-writes. Next is "ALMOST TOGETHER" which is a trio with Derrick and Stan Manley and Gene Henry. This folk trio combines traditional folk, comedy, and gospel music in another ten-cut release with excellent harmonies. "TALES OF THE WESTERN TRAIL" is ten cuts of cowboy poetry set to Derrick's acoustic accompaniment. It's really like getting three CDs for the price of one! Give a listen and enjoy the talents of this traditional music treasure. Besides, Oklahoma is almost Texas….. in some parts!
