Songwriters are often bent on writing about things they've done, places they've been, and people they've known. Reason would dictate that the more interesting songs tend to be from songwriters who have lived more colorful lives. Jarrod’s voice has matured since the first album, allowing him to wrap a full dead-man’s grip around songs like “Whiskey and Lies” and the duet with Bonnie Bishop, “I Can’t Imagine (Not Loving You).” Birmingham has put his best foot forward on this disc and it’s spurring the shoulder of the music world, giving rise to an 8-second ride that lasts and lasts.
