Jeff Duncan
Jeff Duncan and his electric fiddle are a familiar sight at many music venues around Houston. Jeff began playing the violin at the age of 4 through the Susuki method of classical violin. During this time, Jeff performed with many classical orchestras for young people, including the Greater Houston Youth Orchestra. Inspired by artists such as Mark O'Connor and Stephanie Grapelli, Jeff has recently begun to explore the world of folk, country, jazz, swing, and blues fiddle. His role as back up instrumentalist and his skill at improvisation has given Jeff a unique and valuable role in Houston music circles. Jeff currently is performing in and around Houston and Austin with David Brake and That Damn Band. The band is one of 5 finalists in the 2004 Houston Press Music Awards for Best New Act and is also in the running for Best Country an Western. Jeff has performed and recorded with many of the well-known Houston singer/songwriters including MTM members Chris Collins, Melissa Adams, Saylor White, Ken Gaines, April Kelly, and Wayne Wilkerson and Hank Woji. Jeff can be heard on several tracks on Chris Collins' album "Alberta Skies" and also on Ken Gaines' album "Real Men".
