“I will sell you nothing and make you happy you bought it,” croons Jeff Greer on the title track of “BIG SIX CONSULTANT.” Greer is quick to use a myriad of innovative lyrics like this to get his point across, and he does it quite well. From acoustic offerings to punk-rock feelings like “Underwear,” Greer finds his way to psychedelic on tunes like “He Said,” and climbs up on a two-stepper on “Austin Cowboy.” There’s something for everyone on this disc. Greer’s influences are wide and varied and he gives you a taste of all of it on this album. A personal favorite is “Happy Machine Ankle,” probably because some of my heaviest laughing has been done with “online band name generators.” Get the disc and you’ll understand.
