Kacey Musgraves is a singer/songwriter who has been making herself known on the Texas music scene since the age of 9. The most recent stop on her musical journey was appearing on the 5th season of the popular TV series “Nashville Star”. She was selected out of over 20,000 vying for one of the ten spots on the show. Kacey started playing music at an early age, performing western music and yodeling her way into appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and the 2002 Winter Olympics. Recording two award-winning albums before graduating from high school convinced her to forego college and continue to pursue a career in music. Now, at age 18, Kacey’s music blends elements of musical influences like Loretta Lynn, Steve Earle, Tom Petty & Chris Knight with a love for good ole’ traditional country music. Kacey enjoys performing live and plays the guitar, mandolin and harmonica. She is one of those performers who seem to make new friends – and fans – wherever she goes. She is a native East Texan and proud of it.
