A long time coming, the debut release from Kat Rose is "Power And Passion" and it contains plenty of both. Rose has a passion for creating and performing which is evident from the very first note. Her Karen Carpenter-like delivery is soothing and exudes comfort and serenity throughout the disc. Rose's writing leans toward folk, but contains haunts and influences of many styles, making the disc difficult to pigeon-hole into a narrow genre. You won't find collaborations with such diversity as when you team the giant gentleness of Saylor White, the edgy-but-tasteful harp of Otis Futhermucker, and the hold-me-back guitar of the up-and-coming Kenyon White. A Chris Collins/Saylor White production, Kat Rose's debut offering captures her style beautifully.
