Key West has put together the ultimate party album for Parrotheads. The new disc from the group residing in "Key West, Texas" is "AMERICANA," a fifteen-cut party in a box. Of course, you'll hear some of your Jimmy Buffet favorites like "Come Monday" and "Cheeseburger In Paradise," but there's so much more to this live album. Key West will tell you they have plenty to thank Wayne Toups for, so it's no surprise they cover his "Sweet Joline" on this disc. The Third Coast's favorite party band does a fine job on James Taylor's "Mexico" and the old Commodores tune "Brick House" but the treasure chest of this disc is filled with four new songs from band member David Lott. The most notable is "Mornin' When I Woke" which appears as a bonus track. A guitar-only nautical ballad, the song shows off Lott's writing skills, and the harmonies on the bridge are very good. Not only can the band deliver high-energy party songs, but they have a softer, more thought-inspiring side as well.
