Lucky Boyd
Lucky Boyd is one of those honest performers who brings a plethora of talents to his craft. His song-writing carves out a wide path through the Texas music genre, spinning diverse tales of broken hearts, American pride, feeling the blues, poking fun at life, or just rocking the night away at a roadhouse bar. The Houston Press said Lucky could "stand proud next to the likes of Richard Dobson or the Shake Russell / Dana Cooper duo." Lucky’s CD, Let’s Go (Campsite) is a project that will give you some of Boyd’s great songs in a format you might not get to hear very often. Many are solo performances and Lucky admits that playing with a full band will change the sound of certain songs. But fear not, you can still hear the haunting "Like You Treated Me," Boyd’s tribute to American war veterans, and the home-hitting "Can’t Find The Phone." The 1996 version of Lucky’s band rocks the house with the award-winning "My Baby’s In El Paso" which is quickly becoming Boyd’s signature song. Get the CD, enjoy the music, and here’s a little known fact. The symbols on the cover of the CD actually are a cryptogram. See if you can figure out what’s being said.
