Mr. Mark Beets rocks every house with his songs! I have to say I have never been touched by so many wonderful lyrics. Being young as I am it is nice to listen to someone say such wise things without sounding so old! |

As a friend, a fan and a promoter, I have had the opportunity to hear Mark Beets perform around the campfire at Kerrville, at our concert series (Urban Campfires) and in my very own kitchen. He's a fabulous performer: warm, entertaining, and truly talented. I was thrilled when he finally released his first CD. It was well worth the wait. Here's an album that appeals to all levels of your psyche. There are songs for your child (Favorite Son and Our Front Porch), your parent (Raise You Right and So Far Away), and your adult (Lost And Found, Don't Be Afraid, Hole In My Heart, and The Road's Not Long Enough). Whether they are autobiographical or fictional, Mark's lyrics have a believability and a familiarity that makes them easy to relate to and his vocals are smooth and easy to listen to. The first listen to this CD gives the impression of pure Americana. Then, with closer attention you hear Mark's earlier influences eeking through in the Beatle-esque chord structures and harmonies. The entire package is easy on the ears and leaves me with just one question...Mark, I know you have a ton of material that didn't make it on to this CD. When does #2 come out? Editor's note: |

I am in complete awe. Mark's genius with his use of lyrics, followed by his masterful melody and guitar licks is inspiring. Mark's vocals are astounding, and the harmonies with Jack Saunders fantastic. I see great adventures in Mark's future and I am humbled and honored to have this CD in my posession. Thanks, Mark. My 5 year old now has a new favorite CD and I think between the two of us we have almost worn it out. What a treat this CD is. With the extra bonus being every song is fantastic. Thanks again, Mark and GOOD LUCK! |

Mark Beets hits a musical home run with "Long Ago And Many Days"...its a winner! Everyone can relate to Mark's heart-felt lyrics, especially the poignant and personal "Remember Me". |
