Rene Lawrence is a strong guitarist and a bold vocalist, blending old world charm and new world flair with traditional rhythms and confident deliveries. Annie Benjamin's voice is velvet smooth when it needs to be and can cut an edge when required. The diversity is refreshing and the disc is a kaleidoscope of lively tunes and lovely ballads. Lawrence and Benjamin work well together, mixing two voices in occasional diametric opposition, and sometimes in flawless unison. Annie's flute chimes in once in a while to add a welcome dimension.
