Triggerfish has done it! It's the first time I've heard anyone blend three coasts of music together. There's a west coast hint in some of the music, and a southern Florida coast and island lean to the lyrics, all twined together with a Texas coast enthusiasm. What a terrific blend. Mark Wilks, Woodie Ray Lawson, and Luis Villareal comprise this trio of ten-hangers who also know how to put on a great live show. The latest release is “TOURIST TOWN” and it’s twelve cuts of core coastal crooning that put you in the mood to just hang out by the water and sip umbrella drinks all day. A Harry Nilsson tune, a Beach Boys cover, and an Elvis cover are sprinkled between great island sounds. This album is a great continuation of the music of Triggerfish as they continue to aptly entertain the Texas coast around Port Aransas. It’s easy to tell these guys have tons of fun delivering these songs. The writing is solid and the entire project is soaked in Texas coastal flare. There’s even a bonus reprise at the 3:15 mark of cut twelve. Their first offering is "TROPICAL ILLUSION" and it contains some great writing as well as a couple of well-done, not-the-same-old-stuff covers of Buffett and Belafonte. There's even a waltz on this disc, making it a well-rounded project. Island music fans and hill country porch hounds alike will love Triggerfish! This, so you don’t get confused, is the coastal music, harmony-blending, Port Aransas species of Triggerfish, not to be mistaken as any other variety of Triggerfish. Party on guys!
