The Tyler McCumber Band paints rock rhythms with Texas flair and has truly captured lightning in a bottle with the band's debut offering. It's also the freshman project out of Dirtybird Studios where producer Mike McClure has hit a homerun on the first pitch. McCumber's approach to Americana and Roots Rock is nothing short of genius, ranking him quickly with the likes of Wade Bowen for a slice of the Texas music fan pie. Husky-throated McCumber leads an adept band of Southern rockers into a collection of tunes that expose their influences of folk, country, and rock. Lyrically, McCumber is solid, telling stories of life easy and life hard. McClure captures McCumber's passion in each cut as the band stomps brazenly through the front teeth of the Texas music scene. Masterfully performed and expertly produced, this disc should be enough to propel the Tyler McCumber Band to another level, dirt and all.
