Wally Brannon has been a mainstay in the Houston music scene for a long time. Now he offers "CUTHBERT'S JOURNEY," an independent release spurred along with the help of long-time friend and fellow MTM member, Bill Ward. The disc is a fifteen-cut treasure of wonderful tales from the view of Brannon, who is adept at telling picturesque stories. Wally Brannon is joined by Bill Ward and Mike Lindauer, in the orchestration of the arrangements. Jeanne Jasperse-Donovan chimes in on vocals, rounding out this album which Brannon dedicated to his mom, something so many of us forget to do. This is an entertaining disc, perfect for listening or background. Folky from the outset, but Brannon's infusion of Pop and a few Country licks make this a diverse project worth the listen.
