Wesley Cox Band “THE ROAD OF NO RETURN” ©2006 Independently released Review by Lucky Boyd If you grow up with mixed influences from country to classic rock and start writing songs, you’ll create some interesting sounds. Wesley Cox makes no bones about that fact that his writing has been influenced by everybody from George Jones to Jerry Jeff Walker. Cox has assembled a crew of comfortable pickers and they have created something every band searches for – a unique sound. Cox has a distinctive voice and now that the sound is distinguishable from the throng of up and coming bands, things can really start popping for this hard-working band. Music enthusiasts will love the chord progression on “Down I Go” and who else but Cox would put a violin so close to a metal guitar. Well, maybe Richard Williams and Robby Steinhardt. Look for great things from the Wesley Cox Band as they expand their fan base beyond the Texas borders. This album is a great debut project and will help catapult the band to the status they deserve.
