Willie B might often be asked what the ‘B’ stands for and it could just as well stand for Blues. Willie B’s strong blues influence is laced into jazz and pop rhythms making for a distinct Texas sound. The early offering from Willie B is “SEVEN YEAR ITCH” and it’s a ten-cut excursion into the diverse talents of this spirited artist. Soulful R&B is injected into an array of otherwise folk tunes giving this album a special easy listening quality. Willie B’s voice is confident and able, wrapping around meaningful lyrics and adding a pleasurable vocal instrumentation. There’s even a rockabilly tune called “Queen Of Rain” that will definitely get your toes tappin’. The project is packaged like a well-done demonstration disc, without liner notes or extra frills, but the music speaks for itself, making this an excellent find for Texas music fans. Willie B's new offering is "FALL FROM GRACE," a fourteen cut treasure that is Wille B's wonderful assembly of musicians. Several MTM members appear such as Roger Tausz, Jen Rathbun, and Joey D. Willie B's maturation as a songwriter is evident in this release. Colaborating with some of Houston's best songwriters, Willie has put together an album which not only contains some of the best performances I've heard lately, but there an ever-present soul to this project. This is an award-worthy CD and will no doubt win a few. Once again multiple influences and good songwriting are the order of the day. Get either disc for only $13.99!
