The best music in the last fifty years has been shaped predominantly by all male bands with four or five members sharing a common thread. They're in their early twenties, influenced by multiple genres, one of them always at least two generations back. Well, here we go again. The Scott Wiggins Band fits the mold of a band with the power to make history. Influenced by music from the past three decades, SWB has found their unique sound. It's not too 'today' and it's not too 'yesterday.' They lean just Country enough to hook Americana audiences, just Rock enough to hook Country audiences, and just Alternative enough to draw their peers. This album is a vision into the future of Texas music as it offers a further broadening of the lines between pigeonholed music stereotypes. No song on the album is more evident than "Mexico." This one song will make you think of at least one song from every decade from the Sixties to the Nineties. Perfectly performed, cleverly written, and masterfully produced, this 2005 release is a true gem. Take a listen.
